Overview
Hueclip is operated by Hueclip (Hyderabad, Telangana, India). This policy explains what we collect when you use our website, dashboard and browser extension, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect what we need to run your account and store your clips, we don’t sell your data, and you can export or delete it at any time.
Information we collect
Account information
Your email address and name, and basic profile details from the sign-in method you choose.
Content you save
Clips you capture and the boards you build from them: screenshots, animated GIFs, extracted font names and styles, colors and palettes, and details about where a clip came from, such as the page address and title.
Billing information
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments. We receive limited billing details such as your plan, subscription status and billing country. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage and device information
Log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and error reports, used to keep the service secure and working.

The browser extension
The Hueclip extension only acts when you use it. When you start a capture, it reads the following from the page you are on:
- the rendered fonts, colors and palette of the page, when you use extraction tools
- the pixels of the region or visible area you choose, for screenshots and GIFs
- the page address and title of that page, so a clip keeps its source
This data is sent to your Hueclip account. If you lose your connection, clips are queued locally in your browser and uploaded when you reconnect.
We use the data the extension handles only to provide the features you asked for. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it for purposes unrelated to the extension’s functionality. Hueclip’s use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How we use information
- Provide the service: store your clips, build your boards, render share pages and handle exports.
- Process subscriptions and prevent fraud.
- Secure the service, debug problems and enforce our Terms.
- Reply to your messages and send essential service notices, such as billing and security emails.
- Understand how the product is used so we can improve it.
Shared boards are public
When you use the share feature, your board gets a public page. Anyone with the link can view what’s on it. Password-protected links, where your plan includes them, limit access to people who have the password. Unshare a board at any time to take its page offline.
How long we keep information
We keep your account and content while your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove your content from our active systems within 30 days. Copies in backups age out on their normal schedule. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires, for example billing and tax records.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect misuse of your account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR and the UK GDPR, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your data
- withdraw consent where we rely on it
- object to or restrict certain processing
Email support@tryhueclip.com from your account address and we’ll respond. You can also delete clips and boards yourself from your dashboard. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
We are based in India and our providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Children
Hueclip is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will change the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
